It was indeed a big night for Sarath Kumar. The audio of his new action adventure Jaggubhai was launched with fanfare at the Anna Arivalayam, Sarath Kumar and Radhika the DMK head office, in Chennai on Sunday evening. The chief guest for the evening was none other than Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who released the audio of the film in the presence of Oscar winner A R Rahman. Sarath Kumar referred to the CM as “the Dronar of Indian politics.” Karunanidhi’s speech at the end was laced with humour and was the highlight of the evening.
Two songs from the film were screened for the special dignitaries. Music for Jaggubhai is by Rafee, a Singapore-based musician and a former associate of A R Rahman. The other special guest was Karunanidhi’s daughter Selvi Selvam, who, according to the anchor of the show, was Radhika Sarath Kumar’s uyir thozhi (best friend).
Shriya Saran, who plays Sarath’s daughter in the film, was conspicuous by her absence. The other heroine Srisha, who plays Sarath’s wife, was present at the event. Bhagyaraj, Vivek, Ramanarayanan, Vikraman, Vijayakumar, Abirami Ramanathan and KR were among those present.
K S Ravikumar, the director of the film, said, “Jaggubhai’s story is the same as the one I had earlier announced with Rajinikanth. It is for the 10th time our hit combination (KSR-Sarath) is coming together. Veteran comedian Goundamani is making a comeback with this film. 90 percent of the film has been shot abroad, mostly in Australia, by ace cameraman RD Rajasekhar.” Source: Times of India
