Asal movie launch witnessed a star studded event with superstars like Rajnikanth and Ajith Kumar brightening the ceremony with their mere presence. Ajith was looking elegant in a White Silk Dhoti and was busy receiving the guests which included Surya, his brother Karthi, Balachandar, Lyricist Vairamuthu and other crewmembers of the film. Director Saran too looked absolutely overwhelmed and happy by the response the movie launch got. All of them had a gala of a time and their smiling faces clearly suggested that.

Vettaikaran first schedule over : The first schedule of Vijay’s new film Vettaikaran is over at Rajahmundry in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The grapevine is abuzz that Vijay is spotting a new look for the film, which will not be revealed immediately.

The film produced by A V M Balasubramaniam and directed by Babu Shivam, has Anushka as heroine. The buzz is that the film is an action packed family entertainer laced with comedy and sentiment.

As per sources in the unit, the hero introduction song was picturised in which Vijay’s son Sanjay has danced with his dad against an Ayyanar temple background. Then hero meeting heroine for the first time in a very comic manner was shot in a Railway Station. Added to that some talkie portions were also canned in and around Rajahmundry.

The second schedule of the film is to start in Chennai in the second week of April, and it will be shot mostly at AVM studio including a set song. Vijay Antony is composing the second song likely to be a duet.

The best news in recent times, Kamal Hassan faced a movie camera after a year, for the shoot of his much anticipated Thalaivan Irukiran! In a hush-hush secret development, the shoot of the film started today (April 7) in Hyderabad’s Ramoji Rao studios.

Thalaivan Irukiran is the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed Bollywood film A Wednesday. Kamal Hassan will play the role done by Naseerudin Shah while Mohanlal is playing the role of the cop done by Anupam Kher. Venkatesh will replace Mohanlal in the Telugu version (titled as Ee Nadu) of the film.

Ganesh Venkatraman is playing the role of an encounter cop done by Jimmy Shergill in the original. Chakri an ad filmmaker based in US and a close pal of Kamal is the director of the film. Sruthi Hassan is likely to do the background score and a song for the television promo of the film. Read more »
